Chris Allen Jewellery

A one-off pendant, from an idea told out loud to a piece you can wear.

What I did: 3D modelling and rendering in Blender, and the promotional reel.

Tap any tile to see it full size.

The brief

Chris described a serpent coiled around a geodesic sphere.

I modelled it in Blender, from the first block-out to the lit beauty render, so the piece could be judged and changed before any metal was cut.

From first render to the real piece

Each stage was signed off before the next one started.

The early model in plain chrome, with the first blue stones

1. Plain chrome, the first stones

Gold panels added to the sphere

2. The gold panels go in

The serpent coiled around the gold and stone sphere

3. Serpent and sphere together

The final render from a three-quarter angle

4. The final render

A close-up of the serpent head and stones

5. The close-up

6. The real piece

The finished piece

Set with white diamonds, rubies, sapphires and canary yellow diamonds, and signed on the back.

I also cut the promotional reel that takes it from the first shape to the real pendant in the hand.
